Yesterday afternoon we went up to my parents house to make Apple cider. They are out of town for a few weeks, so we went up to their vacant house for the afternoon to borrow their enormous juicer. We had a box of apples left over from canning a few weeks ago and were afraid of them going bad, so we decided to make cider rather than applesauce with them. Jayson was in charge of cutting the apples up and I was in charge of pureeing them and then juicing them. Preston helped me juice for a while, but after about twenty minutes of this, he got bored and decided to go play outside. With all the acreage my parents have, we have to keep a pretty good eye on him, so he stays out of trouble. Our plan was that Jayson would chop for a few minutes, and then when he got ahead of me, he would go check on Preston. Every few minutes this was done and all was working like a well oiled machine. After about the fourth rotation, while Jayson was chopping, he had this eerie feeling that he needed to go check on Preston(even though it had been less than five minutes since he had previously done so). He told me this and went outside to find him. He came back inside holding Preston, looking very sick and pale...I guess, Preston found the lid to my parents water supply. It is a deep cement pit in the ground that they get their drinking water from. He managed to pull the heavy lid off and was having fun hearing himself echo down into the deep dark water below. If he had fallen in, it would have been disasterous. I am so grateful that I have a husband that listens to his promptings and follows them after the first time he is told.

How scary! Thank goodness for little promptings. :)
Wow. that is scary. Good job, Jayson.
Isn't it amazing the things they manage to get into? Thank goodness for the gift of the holy ghost. I'm glad that he was okay.
